HiROs Studio Font Terms of Use

Fonts covered: HiROs Tegaki, HiROs Sign Pen, HiROs Futo Gothic, HiROs Fude
These terms apply to the "kana, Latin and symbols" edition of these fonts (the "Fonts"). HiROs Pop is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, not these terms.
1. Rights
Copyright and all other rights in the font software of the Fonts belong to HiROs Studio. These terms do not transfer ownership or copyright of the Fonts to you.
2. Free use
The Fonts are free to use for individuals and companies, commercial or non-commercial. No notice or credit is required.
3. Permitted uses (examples)
- Videos, streams, captions, thumbnails, images and social media posts
- Printed matter such as flyers, posters, signs, business cards and greeting cards
- Product packaging, logos and merchandise such as T-shirts
- Selling images, videos, printed matter and products made with the Fonts
- Design, video and print work made for clients
- Embedding in PDFs, e-books and other electronic documents
- Using as a web font to display text on websites
- Embedding in apps and games to display text
When embedding in websites, apps or games, do not provide the font files as a standalone product or download, and take reasonable measures so that ordinary users cannot easily extract and reuse the font files by themselves.
4. Modifications needed for embedding
To the extent needed for embedding in websites, apps, games or electronic documents, you may:
- Subset the Fonts to the characters you use
- Convert them to WOFF, WOFF2 or other formats
- Rename the files
- Compress or obfuscate them as needed for embedding
You may not distribute or sell such modified files as fonts by themselves.
5. Prohibited
- Distributing, selling or lending the font files as they are
- Modifying the Fonts and distributing, selling or lending them as fonts
- Including the Fonts in asset packs, font collections or template packs for distribution
- Linking directly to the font files so that third parties can download them
- Creating and distributing or selling another font based on the glyph designs of the Fonts
- Claiming that you made the Fonts
- Claiming rights in the Fonts or their glyphs that would prevent others from using them
- Uses that violate the law or public order and morals
6. Support and updates
Updates, bug fixes, additional characters and individual support are not guaranteed.
7. Warranty and liability
The Fonts are provided as is. We do not guarantee that they work correctly in every environment, fit a particular purpose, or are free of defects.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, HiROs Studio is not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Fonts. Where applicable law makes HiROs Studio liable, that law applies.
8. Changes
These terms may change as needed. Fonts downloaded before a change remain under the terms included with them.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
